Mignon, just wanted to share a conversation I had with Cadence today. By way of background info, like a back up pretend name (Michelle is Cadence's), Cadence has two default pretend "lands", one is the land of Parthenia (the dream land in Barbie in the Nutcracker) and the other is "College". Often she will be stuck in Parthenia while her Prince is away in College looking for her.
Today we had a discussion about what kinds of people go to High School. We listed some of the neighbor kids and then moved on to family members. I listed Aunt Mikee. And Cadence chimed in, "And is Aunt Mignon in high school, too?"
"Oh, no, Mignon is in college, but she's almost finished."
"Oh, good! I just can't wait for her to get back from there. I love her, mom, and I miss her SOOO MUCH!"
I tried to explain to her where our misunderstanding was, and that finishing college doesn't mean Mignon is coming to Arkansas, but she never did quite get it. I told her I would be sure to tell Mignon that she was missing her and wanting her to come visit, and she rattled off a sentence about something almost totally unrelated, although she seemed to think it was somehow in the same vein. It was so random that I can't even remember it now.
Here's another little snippet from our lives:
Tonight Spencer didn't make it home in time for dinner, and rather he met us at Cadence's soccer game. While we were trying to eat quickly so that we could get to the game in time, Cadence sighed dramatically and then said in a truly concerned tone, "Oh dear, Mom! I'm afraid I'm falling in love...with someone else!!!" "Oh? Falling in love with someone instead of whom?"
"(Sigh), Lionel", she says, pronouncing it the Spanish way. Lionel Messi was the star player on the Argentine World Cup team. "
Again, she says, "I'm falling in love...with someone else!"
"Who?"
"I'm falling in love...with my Daddy."
She explained to me that Lionel would be sad but she thought he would probably still come to the wedding and watch her dance. Poor Lionel.

Labor Day
For Labor Day Mom, Dad, Mckay and Karalyn invited us to hike to some water falls in Pleasant Grove. Jake and I love to hike, so obviously had a great time! Here are some pictures of the events! They are even in order this time, so go right ahead and start here at the top.
Zavian and Grampa getting ready to go. Zavian got a kick out of walking Pepper.

Getting ready to go!

The Wildlife was amazing. Above you can see Mikee caught (and probably killed) a pretty purple butterfly.

Below, Mckay discovered the first of probably hundreds of fury caterpillars we saw along/on the trail.

We called this trail "Caterpillar Crossing" because it was hard to walk anywhere without stepping on a Caterpillar. In this picture you can at least spot two... Maybe you can find more? Mikee may or may not be stepping on one.
Mikee would not cooperate with the camera that day. I snuck this one- I had to hurry, or she would earthbend a rock to hit my head or trip me or something.
Jake and I love this picture of Z and Karalyn.

Jake and Charlie beat us all to the falls.

This is Zavian's face when I told him to look at the waterfall. I think he was trying to catch the mist in his mouth.

We almost lost Z's shoe!

Mikee and I decided we should pretend to be mermaids by the waterfall. We got pretty wet... Well Mikee got REALLY wet... Her pants were apparently uncomfortable because she just ripped them right off.

Pepper got to ride with us on the way home. We all went back to Salem and had a delicious Hamburger meal. Thanks to all who made this happen! Jake and I had a lot of fun. I know I post a lot of pictures, so let me know if it is too much. I love you, family! PS Merica and Karalyn are still not authors, so I vote that we make it happen. I don't think I can do that, so I think it's up to you, Mard. Gracias!
